Hello There~My name is Zi your friendly neighborhood freelance artist, working on character illustrations and book illustrations.My artistic journey started like most: I was always a creative child, making up stories with my many many dolls, building them little apartments and directing my own little dramas. Art, dolls and these fantastical spaces that I came up with were my safe space from the big wide world and to this day still is, even when I have to adult in my daily life now. For many years I have struggled to fit in, in school I was always the loner and the only time when I did find some kind of community, it was related to either art or a fantasy world.
At first it was online games, where I could chat with other till the sun came up. Then I found myself on the then new Deviantart with other who wished to form communities.Later on the biggest community I found was Ball Jointed Dolls, where I anchored myself, learned new skills and started my sewing journey that kept me afloat for many years. Creating my own characters through these dolls kick-started the story that is Soul Deep. I have gone back and forth between medias, how to present this complex idea I had, going through several revisions. At last I landed on writing and illustrating it, making me step away from the sewing projects and leaning in on digital art completely.

BJDs have been a big part of my life ever since I first laid eyes on one. This hobby motivated me to learn to work with fabric, using a camera, edit images and to write my stories. I wholeheartedly believe I would not be where I am was it not for getting into the hobby and I would live a very dull life.I bought my first doll in 2007. I do my own painting and clothes for all of my dolls and I dabble in wig-making and have crafted props and furniture for them. Whenever I go on holiday, I bring at least one with me with a camera. Locally we have photo-meets where we go to scenic locations with the idea of taking photos specifically.I had plenty of doll blogs in the past, but right now I am only actively posting on my Instagram.On Ko-Fi you can get patterns and tutorials from me and I am newly active on Lovely Everyone forum.
