Hello There~
My name is Zi your friendly neighborhood freelance artist, working on character illustrations and book illustrations.My artistic journey started like most: I was always a creative child, making up stories with my many many dolls, building them little apartments and directing my own little dramas. Art, dolls and these fantastical spaces that I came up with were my safe space from the big wide world and to this day still is, even when I have to adult in my daily life now. For many years I have struggled to fit in, in school I was always the loner and the only time when I did find some kind of community, it was related to either art or a fantasy world.
At first it was online games, where I could chat with other till the sun came up. Then I found myself on the then new Deviantart with other who wished to form communities.Later on the biggest community I found was Ball Jointed Dolls, where I anchored myself, learned new skills and started my sewing journey that kept me afloat for many years. Creating my own character through these dolls kickstarted the story that is Soul Deep. I have gone back and forth between medias, how to present this complex idea I had, going through several revisions. At last I landed on writing and illustrating it, making me step away from the sewing projects and leaning in on digital art completely.
